Me, one guitar, one voice

Recorded live, as it goes out. One voice, one guitar, one loop pedal, no band behind it. There are 43 more on the listen page, and what an acoustic wedding singer does across a whole day is written up in full.

Music matters at more moments than you think

The turnaround

That space between the meal and the band is real.

The room is being flipped, the band are not on yet, and most couples have nothing booked for it. It is the part I get asked back for most.

Every booking includes the PA, the setup and soundcheck, backup equipment, a planning call. Travel is 50p a mile from Stansted, Essex, and I will always tell you the figure before you book, never after. A 50% deposit secures your date, and the balance is due one month before the wedding.

Bespoke, so you build it from the parts you want. Prices start at £300.

Pick one part or pick all six. The whole list together comes to £2,700. Nothing is quoted on request.

Book more than one part and I knock something off: as a guide, one part is around £500, two parts around £800 and three parts around £1,000. Guides, not a quote.

Listen

The bit a website can't do

You can read about a singer all day and still have no idea what they sound like. So here are 44 live recordings and 18 videos. Two minutes and you'll know whether I'm right for your day.

Honestly

When I'm not the right call

I'd rather tell you now than take a booking you regret.

  • If you want a packed dance floor at eleven at night, book a band. I'm one person with a guitar, a loop pedal and a PA. I can lift a room and I do. I'm not four musicians and I won't pretend to be.

  • If your budget is under £300, don't book live music at all. Build a proper playlist, hire a decent speaker, and put someone who isn't drinking in charge of pressing play. That will serve you better than the cheapest act you can find.

  • If you want someone to host your evening, make announcements and run the room, you want a DJ or a compère. I play. I don't host.

  • If your families can't agree on the music, I can't fix that. I'll play what you ask and I'll read the room, but I'm not a referee.

Booking

How booking me actually works

  1. Send me your date. Where, when, and roughly what you're thinking. Takes a minute.

  2. I answer within 24 hours. Free or not free. A real reply from me.

  3. We talk properly. Twenty minutes on the phone about your running order, your venue, your songs and anything you're worried about.

  4. We put it in writing. A 50% deposit secures your date, and the balance is due one month before the wedding. Then I turn up early, set up quietly and play.

Where I play

Essex, London, and a long way past both

I'm based in Stansted, so most of my weddings are in Essex, Hertfordshire, London, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. I regularly play Norfolk, Kent, Sussex, the Cotswolds and Cornwall, and I've played destination weddings at Lake Como, Lake Garda, in Tuscany and in Dubrovnik. Travel is 50p a mile from Stansted, Essex, and I tell you the figure before you book.

  • Tom played at our wedding at Apton Hall a couple of weeks ago. He played during our reception drinks and canapés and it worked perfectly. He is an amazing singer and guitarist and it was the perfect accompaniment to our celebrations on our day. So many of our guests commented on how great he was. Tom took requests and played songs he hasn't even played before!

  • Even now, two weeks on from our wedding day our guests are still mentioning the performance of Tom. He executed the song of our choice better than we could have ever wished for, as my wife walked down the aisle. His energy caused an eruption of unprecedented scenes as guests got up to dance before the speeches had even begun!

  • Tom was such a great addition to our wedding. He played for our drinks reception and wedding breakfast and it created such a lovely atmosphere.

Questions

The questions people email me at midnight

A playlist is free and a playlist is fine. What it cannot do is watch the room. It does not notice that the speeches ran twenty minutes long, or that your gran has arrived, or that the dance floor is one song away from filling. I do. If your budget is tight, spend it on the moments that matter most to you and use a playlist for the rest. I will tell you honestly which parts of your day do not need me.
