Tom Ryder Weddings

Essex

Wedding singer in Essex

I live in Stansted, so Essex weddings are the ones I can be at in half an hour with the van loaded.

Most of the weddings I play are in Essex. That means I know the rooms, I know which barns eat sound and which ones give it back to you, and I know roughly what the traffic does on a Saturday in August.

Practically, being local means I am never rushing. I arrive with time to set up properly and soundcheck before your first guest walks in, and if your plan changes on the morning because of the weather, I am not the person adding to the problem.

Venues

Essex venues I've played

Only the ones I have actually played. If your venue is not on this list it does not matter in the slightest, it just means I will ring them rather than assume.

I also play regularly around Chelmsford, Colchester, Saffron Walden, Braintree and Southend.

Included wherever I play: a professional pa, sized for your room, indoors or outdoors, full setup and soundcheck before your guests arrive, backup equipment for everything, and public liability insurance with the certificate sent to your venue on request.

Ceremony

Music for a Essex ceremony

Most Essex ceremonies I play are in barns, or in a garden with a barn waiting behind it for when the weather turns. A barn is a big hard room, so the aisle walk carries further than people expect and the register signing sounds much quieter than it feels, which is why I set up close to you rather than at the back.

Because I am ten minutes up the road in Stansted, I can be set up and soundchecked long before your registrar wants to talk timings, and if the ceremony moves indoors an hour beforehand it costs you nothing but a phone call.

Tom played at our wedding at Apton Hall a couple of weeks ago. He played during our reception drinks and canapés and it worked perfectly. He is an amazing singer and guitarist and it was the perfect accompaniment to our celebrations on our day. So many of our guests commented on how great he was. Tom took requests and played songs he hasn't even played before!

Even now, two weeks on from our wedding day our guests are still mentioning the performance of Tom. He executed the song of our choice better than we could have ever wished for, as my wife walked down the aisle. His energy caused an eruption of unprecedented scenes as guests got up to dance before the speeches had even begun!
